Frequently Asked Questions
WHAT IS A PLASMA TREATMENT?
Plasma is a completely safe and low risk treatment option for people seeking non-surgical alternative interventions to traditional surgery. This non-invasive intervention requires no cutting or stitching which means it is now possible to obtain the same results as you would with traditional surgery, without the need of anaesthesia, without scarring and without unnecessary risks.
Plasma is formed through the ionisation of atmospheric gasses to stimulate instant contraction and tightening of skin fibres. The technology is reliable, easy to implement and safe for all people of all ages.
BEFORE THE TREATMENT
All prospective patients are advised to have a face-to-face consultation with your doctor or nurse prior the treatment. During the consultation the practitioner will analyse your tissue to explain the range of treatment options available to you, how many sessions are needed to achieve the desired result and aftercare procedure.
DURING THE TREATMENT
A standard treatment lasts 20 -30 minutes depending on the area(s). Patients are required to attend the appointment at least 45 minutes prior to the actual treatment to have a topical anaesthetic cream applied to minimise the risk of discomfort during the procedure as well as to go through the relevant post procedure expectations. As the treatment uses sublimation to shorten and tighten skin fibres there may be a slight burning smell during treatment which is completely normal.
AFTER THE TREATMENT
Immediately after the treatment a carbon crust will form over the treated area, this is completely normal. The crusts formed must not be scratched, rubbed or removed. In some cases patients may experience some mild swelling and mild discomfort to the treated area for the first 48 hours. BioCosmedical Recovery Serum should be applied to sooth the area and aid healing.
HOW MANY SESSIONS ARE REQUIRED?
The number of sessions will vary according to the desired degree of correction needed to meet the individual expectations. The final result will show after 1 months as your skin will keep contracting for 28 days following treatment. Follow up assessments should be made after 1 months to assess if further treatments are required.
WHAT ARE THE RISKS?
The Felc Nano Plasma treatment is a non-ablative treatment without the need for cutting, stitching or bleeding which minimise all risks significantly. Although, all aftercare instructions must be followed as oriented by your practitioner to avoid pigmentation or inflammation.
HOW LONG THE RESULT LASTS?
The effect of the treatment is subject to the number of treatments undertaken, your lifestyle and aging process.
