Toxins

What is botulinum toxin?

Botulinum toxin is a purified bacterial substance that blocks muscle nerve signals. The dentist can safely inject botulinum toxin to weaken facial muscle and diminish unwanted wrinkles and frown lines that appear across the forehead and at the corners of the eyes (crow's feet).

Besides treating the upper region (forehead and corners of the eyes), we are also able to offer more advanced techniques to allow the removal of lines in mid and lower regions of the face.

Treating the mid region of the face with botulinum removes smoker's lines and bunny lines of the nose.

Treating the lower region of the face with botulinum can help increase the smile by targeting the turns at the end of the smile (mouth droop) as well as remove tensions in the chin (witch's chin).

Barcodes Lines (Smoker Lip Lines)

What are Smokers' Lines?

Smokers’ lines are sometimes also referred to as the barcode and occur as we grow older and the lip naturally starts to lose its volume. Smokers’ lines are often first noticed when lipstick starts to ‘bleed’ out of the vermilion border (the generally sharp demarcation between the lip and your adjacent normal skin) into the vertical fine lines around the mouth. More common and more pronounced in smokers, these lines can be filled with dermal fillers.

Dermal Fillers treatments for Smokers' Lines

Dermal fillers offer the most effective non-surgical method for treating smokers’ lines and it usually only requires a very small volume of the product injected into precise locations along the vermilion border (lip line) to correct the appearance of smokers’ lines.

Non-permanent dermal fillers present a non-invasive and cost effective means of treatment. Most importantly, they have a proven safety record. The results that can be achieved using dermal fillers for treating smokers’ lines are stunning and natural looking.

At Wish, we also offer anti wrinkle injections for the treatment of smokers’ lines. This can be very effective. Patients should be aware that Botox treatment in this area can cause the occasional side effects of being unable to purse the lips, therefore causing weakness in drinking out of a straw or in pronouncing the letters P and B.

Midface Dermal Filler Treatment

Dermal fillers and collagen-stimulating treatments are popular alternatives to cosmetic surgery. They can give definition back to your cheeks and restore the youthful curve to your face that looks softer, natural and refreshed.

Our face loses volume as we age, taking on a sagging or drooping appearance. Cheek fillers restore this lost volume, sculpting your face to provide a mid-face lift. We offer various treatment options through dermal fillers and collagen stimulators.

Lip Fillers

FULL, NATURAL-LOOKING, BEAUTIFUL LIPS...

Lip Fillers, also known as Lip Augmentation or Lip Injections, are a popular treatment which addresses many lip concerns. Lips are an important part of facial beauty. For many people, fuller and more sensuous lips come high on their wish list. These can be created using material naturally found in the body. A simple, safe, dermal filler treatment can add volume and definition which can enhance small, thin lips. The procedure can also balance out asymmetric lips or reduce the appearance of those fine, vertical lines.

Which part of the lip can be enhanced?

Lip enhancement can be performed at many different areas of the lips :

Vermilion border or lip outline - for creating definition, width and improve lipstick bleeding lines
Lip augmentation targeting the fleshy part of the upper and lower lip – for volume, pout and fullness
Cupids bow definition – adds definition and contouring
Oral commissures or lines going down from the sides of the mouth – for a younger and happy look
Marionette lines (sad lines from corner of lips downward) – also known as puppet lines
Philtrum ridges that go from the upper lip towards the nose can be made more defined
Perioral lines or fine vertical lines often due to smoking on the upper lip can be reduced

Increases firmness and elasticity – for healthier and softer skin

Profhilo is an EXCLUSIVE skin remodelling treatment that will give you visible results in just 2 visits. This revolutionary NEW treatment to rival dermal fillers takes just 10 minutes, with 5 injection points into your area of concern. It stimulates 4 different types of collagen and elastin due to the slow release of hyaluronic acid, and it is this stimulation that results in significant improvement of tissue quality.

How does it work?

Profhilo® is based on IBSA’s patented technology. It uses stable, hybrid cooperative complexes of Hyaluronic Acid (HA) at high and low molecular weights. This technology has allowed IBSA to present a unique concentration of Hyaluronic Acid to the market: 64mg in 2ml, injectable with a 29g TW needle. The hybrid cooperative complexes generate a dual action, owing to a slow, long-lasting release of high and low molecular weight Hyaluronic Acid.

Thanks to the unique characteristics of Profhilo®, remodelling skin laxity is possible in just two sessions by injecting into in the superficial subcutaneous layer of the skin. There’s a one month interval between each treatment. Profhilo® may be injected using all aesthetic techniques, according to the suggested injection layer:

Hydrating and stimulating action, related to low molecular weight (L-HA) HYDRO2.
Dermal scaffold action (support), related to high molecular weight (H-HA) LIFT3.

This treatment is aimed at patients who have visible signs of ageing skin. It’s usually for people aged between 40 and 60 years old. However, this does not mean Profhilo® can’t work on others. In younger patients, it will have a more of a preventive effect.
We start losing a significant amount of collagen, elastin and Hyaluronic Acid after we reach 30. At this age, we should start to consider preserving ourselves. This is the time when many people would consider their first toxin injections as the first lines start to appear. In some, the tissue quality has dropped so significantly that they may look older for their age; however, they may not be ready for dermafillers yet.

This is where Profhilo® fits beautifully.

There is no age upper limit either. In fact, in older patients, we have often seen more dramatic results. 60+ clients need to be managed carefully. For example, if there are deep folds present or the skin has lost elasticity then the combination treatments with Profhilo® may be more suitable. Consultation is very important. If the patient is looking for very subtle results, this treatment delivers. However, if they are looking for a lifting of the face, neck or any other area, then the combination with fillers, threads, surgery should be recommended.

Where can Profhilo be used?

Profhilo is most commonly used for facial areas, but can also effectively be used for rejuvenating the neck, decollete, arms, knees and hands.

Why should I have this treatment?

We start losing a significant amount of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid after we reach 30, and it is at this age that we start to consider preventative treatments.
This is the time when many people would consider their first anti-wrinkle injections as the first lines start to appear. If you are feel your facial tissue quality has dropped significantly, and that you may look older for your age, but are not ready for dermafillers yet, Profhilo may be the best treatment for you.

Profhilo is not a filler – It is a new Hyaluronic Acid gel, one of the latest innovations to treat the skin laxity by skin bio-remodelling

It actually compliments all other aesthetic or cosmetic procedures by significantly improving the tissue quality

It has one of the highest concentration of HA on the market

Awarded the Aesthetics Award for Product Innovation of the Year

Profhilo diffuses within the tissue after injection and over the period of 4 weeks it stimulates 4 different types of collagen and elastin. It doesn’t need to be massaged and leaves no nodules. Due to the its high spread ability, only 5 injection points on each side of the face are needed, which means patients find the treatment much more comfortable.

What results can I expect?

After just a single course of Profhilo®, which involves two injectable treatments four weeks apart, clients can expect to see an intense hydration. It makes the skin glow and fine lines can disappear. You’ll notice smoother, tighter skin. Even for those clients with very wrinkled skin, an improvement in the texture is undeniable. The treatment can be repeated after six months in cases where more repair is desired.

We also advise that you avoid using aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs a couple of days before your treatment (unless they are taken for a chronic medical condition). Thread Lifts

What is thread lifting?

Thread lifting is a safe and effective technique which allows any sagging skin tissue to become tighter, this re-defines the facial contours and introduces new collagen to form.

What materials are used to achieve this?

The threads that we use are called PDO which stands for Polydioxanone and is a material that has been used in the medical world for over 15 years. The PDO threads have been clinically proven to be bio-compatible and stimulate the growth of collage and elastin and are also fully biodegradable.

What does the treatment involve?

A full facial consultation would need to take place first prior to ant treatment, you will be able to discuss all of the options that are available to you and given all of the information in order to make an informed decision. During your consultation we may take some clinical photographers for your records.

The whole treatment takes up to an hour, we will start by cleansing your skin and drawing guide marks on the area that we are treating. We will then numb the area of treatment using local anaesthetic. The treads are then especially selected for the client’s needs and carefully inserted under the skin.

Are the effects immediate and how long do they last?

The PDO last for up to 6 months. During that time the stimulation of collagen and elastin has increased creating the lifting effect to last naturally up to 2-3 years, however this can vary from individual to individual.

Will I have any swelling of bruising after this?

As with all treatments we expect some degree of swelling and bruising after the treatment. This can last up to 2-3 days. Most clients report little or no down time after treatment, making this treatment very popular!

A follow up review consultation is then booked for around a 1 week after treatment but the team are always available with any concerns whatsoever.

Hyperhidrosis

Unfortunately if you suffer with hyperhidrosis, which is the medical term for excessive sweating, you might have found the recent heat and sunshine causing you a few problems.

Sweating is a natural function to control your body temperature, but if you suffer with hyperhidrosis this can cause significant embarrassment with large wet patches under the armpits being the most common sign.

Hyperhidrosis comes about your sympathetic nervous system, which controls involuntary responses such as sweating and blushing, fails to regulate your sweating.  External heat doesn’t help your situation and this condition can be extremely debilitating in social situations, where it limits your choice of clothes.

Hyperhidrosis treatment

Although most people know anti-perspiration injections for helping the fight against wrinkles few realise that anti-perspiration injections injections are a highly effective treatment for the condition of hyperhidrosis. The anti-perspiration injections prevents the stimulation of overactive sweat glands so that the condition literally dries up.

The treatment only takes 30 minutes and you will see a dramatic improvement in 4 weeks with results that typically last 4-6 months.
Don't suffer in the heat come and see us and let us help you enjoy the summer.

Nefertiti Lift

Neck and jowl treatments

Crepey, sagging skin on the neck quickly betrays a woman's age and is often unkindly referred to as "turkey neck". However, we can tighten and lift skin, or relax muscles, around the neck and jowls to create a firmer jaw line and smoother neck.

Nefertiti Neck Lift

A "turkey neck" can be created by your platysma, which is a thin fan of muscle that spreads from your chest up the neck to your jaw. As you age, your platysma can separate into rope-like bands, with irregular tension, resulting in the appearance of wrinkly skin on your neck.

The Nefertiti Lift performed by Jeremy Isaac at Wish Skin clinic is a quick procedure that uses tiny anti-wrinkle injections into your neck and lower jaw to relax your platysma bands and muscles to create a smoother neck and firmer jaw line.

Skin Tips

Wish Skin Clinic offer a range of treatments that can help rejuvenate the skin, Alumier MD Peels and home care treatments with Vitamin C or antioxidant creams. Try a hydrating mask a few times a week to reduce any irritation or dehydration.
